David W. Hayes, M.D., F.A.C.C. Dr. Hayes was born in Little Rock , Arkansas . He grew up in Kansas , where he attended high school, college, and medical school. Dr. Hayes graduated from the University of Kansas Medical School in May of 1984; he ranked second in his class of 200 and received many awards. He trained in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the University of Iowa , serving as the chief resident in the Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Hayes is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and has been actively practicing cardiology since 1990. He is the Director of Cardiovascular Medicine and Education with the Austin Medical Education Programs and the Medical Director for Cardiovascular Services at Brackenridge Hospital , as well as Director of Cardiovascular Medicine and Education at AMEP. His major interests lie in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease. He is experienced in interventional techniques and pacemaker therapy. He and his wife Kathie have been married for 25 years, and have three children: two in college and one in high school. His eldest daughter is in advanced graduate study in Brighton , England . While not busy with his many duties, Dr. Hayes enjoys playing golf, is an accomplished trumpet player, and enjoys Alpine skiing and scuba diving. |

David A. Garza, M.D., F.A.C.C. Dr. Garza was born in Edinburg , Texas . He graduated from the University of Texas and attended medical school at the University of California at San Diego . He trained at Parkland Hospital in Dallas and the University of Texas at San Antonio Hospitals for Internal Medicine and Cardiology. Dr. Garza is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and has been practicing cardiology since 1980. He is experienced in catheter techniques, pacemakers, and is licensed in Nuclear Diagnostic Cardiology. After 13 years of practice Dr. Garza took time off from cardiology to attend law school at the University of Texas . He became a member of the Texas Bar in 1996 and is a non-practicing attorney. Dr. Garza holds the position of Medical Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at St. David's Medical Center and previously held the position of Chief of Cardiology at St. David's Medical Center . His major interest is in the treatment of coronary artery disease and its prevention. Dr. Garza has been married to Dr. Stephanie Kodack for over 25 years and has two children in college. He enjoys reading history and the natural sciences. Whenever his schedule allows, Dr. Garza spends time on his ranch in Gonzales County where he aims to develop a self-sustaining homestead. |
